How To: Plumbing

“How To” Plumbing 101: While having a professional assess your plumbing issue is the most reliable course of action, we understand that you might not want to call a plumbing service for every little thing. However, sometimes things that start off small such as a leaky faucet or a clogged drain can become a big pain in your…wallet. Here are tips to know when to and when not to call a plumber:

The Five Things You Need to Know:

-Know how old the plumbing system is. If the plumbing system in the building/house is old compared to the other buildings nearby, it is more likely that you will have to repair or even replace the entire system because they could have corroded so much that the water pressure will get worse as the years go by.

-Know where all the pipes are in the house. Before you start renovating or fixing the place up, you should know where the pipes so you can renovate around the pipes instead of accidentally breaking or destroying the unit.

-Know where to shut off the main water and gas valves. This will come in handy when you need to shut off the toilet or any other water supply during an emergency. Also, you should know where the main sewer line is located and where the water supply line is located.

-Know the type of heat and water system you have (gas or electric).

-Know the most reliable plumbing and heating professionals in your area. Go Pro Plumbing & Heating specializes in all areas of the field and has a 24/7 emergency service!
